Accompanist

Mark Pescott joined Leicester Philharmonic Choir as official accompanist in September 2010 .

In addition to his position with LPC, Mark is much in demand as a soloist, accompanist and teacher throughout the county and the Midland region. Mark is assistant organist at the Parish Church of Ss Peter & Paul, Kettering and teaches as a peripatetic music teacher for the Northampton Music and Performing Arts Service, Wellingborough School, Bosworth Independent Sixth Form College, Northampton and, Northampton School for Boys, where he also acts as an official accompanist for the Music Department and accompanies students in their end of year recitals.

As well as his teaching commitments, Mark works as a pianist for the Royal Academy of Dance and has also worked as répétiteur for the Birmingham Royal Ballet Company and Birmingham Royal Ballet Education Department being involved with the "Ballet Hoo" project, broadcast by channel 4 television 2006. Among his many responsibilities he has also been active as a Musical Director in several amateur musical shows throughout Northamptonshire and is assistant Musical Director for Northampton Operatic Company. He is also organist to Kettering Choral Society and the Wombourne & District Choral Society, West Midlands.

His solo performances have included Poulenc's Organ Concerto in G Moll with the Northampton Symphony Orchestra, Guilmant's Organ Symphonie No.1 with the New Phoenix Orchestra and Saint-Saëns Organ Symphonie with the Northamptonshire County Youth Orchestra, under the Direction of Peter Dunkley, Head of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Service.

In 2004-2005 Mark was principal recitalist for the organ restoration project at Ss Peters Church Raunds, Northamptonshire and in November 2006 he gave an organ recital

at Northampton Cathedral in Aid of the Church in Need and in the same year gave a performance of Sir Malcolm Arnolds Organ Concerto, with the University of Leicester Orchestra at St James the Greater, Leicester.

In the summer of 2007 he was a recitalist for the famous Lunchtime Live series at the renowned, famous musical church of All Saints Church, Northampton and in November gave a concert of piano and organ music with the Director of Music to celebrate the Feast of All Saints. In December 2008, Mark was guest soloist for the Macmillan Cancer service alongside Dame Judy Dench at All Saints, Northampton.

In 2009 Mark gave recitals at St James the Greater, Leicester, Lichfield Cathedral and Northampton Cathedral and was the organist for the The Schools Proms Concert at the Royal Albert Hall 2006

In June 2011 Mark was organist for the Earl of Spencer's Wedding at Althorp House.
