CHOIR
EXCELS IN AN ENTERTAINING GALA NIGHT
The Leicester Philharmonic
Choir provided another of their excellent opera gala programmes.
They were accompanied by the English Festival Orchestra under the baton of their
ever popular Brian Kay.
The soloists for the evening were the delightful soprano Linda Richardson,
Claire Bradshaw, (mezzo soprano), Wynne Evans (tenor) and the baritone Jeremy
Huw Williams.
The choir was in fine form and sang favourites such as The Chorus of the Hebrew
Slaves from Nabucco and The Grand March from Aida. We also heard beautiful,
popular pieces as the duet from The Pearl Fishers and Nessun Dorma.
The choir produced a well-balanced tone. By the end of the evening, this lighter
classical programme had entertained an appreciative audience. |
